Yanomami INquiry

This is my Inquiry presentation. I created this with Shelford. It is about a tribe that lives in Venezuala and is called the Yanomami. Throughtout this presentation I learnt so many new things auch as why they were less clothes, what they eat and many more. I really enjoyed reasearching this tribe. It was such a fun expericence.

Mondays Immersion Assembly

Yesterday was the first day of Term 3. Every term on the first day we have an immersion assembly. This is because we don't have any idea what our team is learnign about. Each team gets together over the holidays and plans something that they are going to show on the first day of term. Our school wide topics is Trade and Enterprise. All around the school students are learning about business and money. One team is learning about Ice-Cream.

When everybody walked in Mr Burt started auctioning things ike rugby balls, chocolate and even Simba from Lion King. Once every class was in the hall Mr Burt invited Mary to do a karakia for the term. Team 1 was the first team to show there focus for the term. They made a movie that shows them going to the market and buying mant mant things. I then knew that the focus for them was money and markets.  Click HERE

Team 2, 3, 4, did there presentation and then Team 5 showed what they had.

Team 5 was so different from the other teams. The other teams had movies to show but Team 5 did a little play. It was about Mr Wiseman being Financially Responsible. This means that you are responsible with the money that you have. You also look after your family not just physically but financially.

The Team that i liked the best was Team 5 because they were creative with what they did.

Paige and Alizhay Measurment

This is a presentation that Mrs Tele'a made for the class to do in partners. My partner was Alizhay. It is all about the area and the perimeter of shapes.

Paige Zeal Zone - Anzac Food To Boost Spirits.

This is a presentation that I made in my Zeal Zone group today.  My Zeal Zone group was Cooking with Mrs Tele'a. It is about the biscuits that were made for the soldiers in WW1 and how they lifted the soldiers morale ( enthusiasm ). I discovered many things from doing this presentation.

POLYFEST 2015

For the first time in Pt England School history a whole team of Yr 7 and 8s went to the 2015 Polyfest in Manukau. Everyone packed into 4 buses and went off to the 2015 Polyfest.

As we arrived at the main entrance, a lady in a neon pink top guided the bus into the bus area. We hopped off the bus and lined up in front of Mrs Tele'a. Once everyone lined up we made our way to the main gate. A guy that was in a vibrant orange top welcomed us through the gate.

Everyone settled in front of a bright yellow tent which said ASB on the top of it. There was about another 4 intermediate schools. A lady named Mele ( who was the school organiser for Polyfest) gave the teachers a paper with a sequence of numbers which stood for each activity you are going to.

One of my favourite activities was the AUT station. I really liked it because it was exciting and the technology that they used was so cool.

My second favourite was the Maori stage. I really liked it because I saw what it was like to be filled with excitement.

My last favourite was seeing John Key. He came and talked to us for a few minutes. It was really cool.


I can't wait for POLYFEST 2016!!!!!!! YAY

Blog Profile Update

Hi my name is Paige and I am a year 8 at Point England School. I am 12 years of age. I am in Room 3 with the wonderful Mrs Tele’a as my teacher. I am the 3rd oldest out of 5 other siblings. My favourite subject at school is Reading. Reading is my favourite subject because it can take you to fascinating places. One of of my favourite series of books are Geronimo Stilton books. In my spare time I enjoy sitting outside in the shade with an exciting book. This year I plan to trying out for at least two sports which are Netball and Volleyball.  Well this is a little bit about me and I hope you enjoy my blog.
