Creating With Sumo Paint

Today I was having a little play with sumo and some of the tools. One of the tools I really liked was the kaleidoscope. I really liked this tool because I can create new things.

Below is a creation of what I have created using the kaleidoscope tool.

This is a flower using green and blue colors.

Another tool I really liked was the Gradient Fill Tool. I liked this tool because it makes things that exciting.

Here is something I made with it.

Hokule'a and Hikianalia Reflection

On Wednesday 26th march 2015 an amazing event occurred at Point England beach. This event was the Hokule'a and the Hikianalia wakas coming to the Point England beach.  

Early in the morning over 2,000 children arrived at the Pt England Reserve to see the two amazing wakas the Hokule’a and the Hikianalia. Everyone thought it was amazing and so did I because Collin and I had the opportunity to film on the Hikianalia as it was coming to shore.

Everything was tremendous, the water was clear and calm, the waka looked the beautiful in the sunlight and the people were all nice. I thought the coolest thing on the Hikianalia was how everybody worked together and there was no arguments about anything. I also liked the way that they started with a talk and a song.

As everybody (Manaiakalani schools) on the reserve chanted ‘E oho’ the crew started smiling and saying that it was beautiful and amazing. Then it was time to leave the waka. A dinghy came and took us to the beach and that’s where we saw all the children singing a waiata and the children in front dancing and doing the pukana. As we hopped off the dinghy we stepped into the water and my shoes got soaked. I had to take them off for them to dry.

This welcome was all for the people who worked on the Hikianalia and the Hokule’a. Then Mr Burt (Principal of Pt England) told all the children to come past the crew members and give them an awesome high five. This took at least half an hour long because there were 2,000 children. After that all the children left except for 3 from each school.

The children who stayed back were the children who got to eat a delicious hangi including the waka crew members (Hangi is food that is cook in the ground). Inside there was kumara, potato, stuffing, and a yummy drum stick.

It was a privilege to meet these people because those people or crew members are really fantastic. They didn’t have to come down to meet us but yet they did, all for us our school and our community just to learn a little bit about us and what we do. It was so spectacular and I am really happy that this event was so significant and successful.

I hope that they come back and see us.

Happy Birthday!!!

During my long weekend something exciting happened. It was my Aunt's 21st birthday. We all woke up and then we started singing happy birthday to her. We made our way into the kitchen to see what was for breakfast this special day. Wow what a surprise it was. In front of us was plates with three waffles and fresh berries.  As we sat down my mum poured hot cocoa into each cup. I had a little sip and it was delicious.

After breakfast we all meet in the lounge and we told my Aunt to go and get ready. She did not know what for but she did it anyway. We all started talking about where we could take her out for lunch. We looked around the room and then I said “ Why don’t we go to Valentines”. Everybody seemed to agree. So it was settled we were going to Valentines.

I got ready and went to go and see my Aunt. She was dressed in a velvet red dress with red high heels. We all hopped into the two cars and made or way to Valentines. When we arrived, we all hopped out of the car and made our way inside. My Aunt said “ What are we doing here?” I replied “ We are here for lunch”.

As we gathered inside a waiter came and said that when we are hungry we can help ourselves to the ‘all you can eat buffet’. The kids had a table at the end and we all went up and got some food. Once all the kids had food the adults went up and got their food. As soon everybody had finished eating we had a cake made for her that was brought to the table.

We all sung Happy birthday and ate the cake. It was delicious. It was a chocolate mud cake with M'n'Ms on top. After that whole thing we all went back home and watched tv. We all enjoyed the day and we thought that it was awesome.

Recent Event In Chile

Chile’s Calbuco volcano has erupted with a spectacular eruption that has forced 6,500 people to flee their homes.
A sleeping giant for more than 50 years, the volcano sprang to life in spectacular bursts of ash and lava on Wednesday and Thursday.

The huge ash clouds blanketed southern Chile in suffocating volcanic debris.

A huge ash cloud has drifted eastward over Patagonia and Argentina, reaching Buenos Aires 2,000 kilometres away.

In the Chilean capital Santiago, domestic flights operated normally but some international flights were cancelled.
Experts have cautioned that a third eruption could still follow.

ANZAC Test Australia vs New Zealand

Oh man!. The Anzac test has been postponed until Sunday due to bad weather. My whole family was in the lounge getting comfy then we heard that the Anzac test between Australia and New Zealand has been postponed.

Aparently in Brisbane the weather has been terrible. The field that they were supposed to be playing on had flooded over the past 24 hours.

As soon as we heard the news we all looked upset. We were all looking forward to New Zealand winning the game. I then checked the weather for Brisbane on Sunday and yay it was good. We lay down and started looking for something else to watch then we found other games.

I was so bummed that I didn't get to watch the game.
